The city of Duarte is conveniently located at the intersection of the 210 and 605 freeways and the newest home to a California School of the Arts. Duarte has fourteen beautifully designed parks and a walking path parallel to Royal Oaks drive that takes you from one end of the city to the other. Throughout the day you will find walkers, joggers and even horseback riders partaking on the beauty of this path.
Duarte is one of the few cities that still has a dedicated city transit line, the Duarte Transit, which is a bus system with two routes that circle the city at designated times allowing for residents to take advantage of the city’s offerings without having to drive. Both lines have a stop at the newly opened Gold Line metro stop.
Having grown up in Duarte and gone through the school system from Kindergarten through High School, I can attest to the city’s devotion for providing their residents with great resources and a focus on education. Having City of Hope, the world leader in cancer research and treatment, as part of Duarte’s community has allowed for health and well-being to be at the forefront of the city’s initiatives.
