This year Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday, but if you have a sweetheart, you still have to do something special. You can, of course, cook a delicious meal at home paired with great wine, but if you rather keep it simple by going out, perhaps some of the events listed below will do the trick.
Valentine’s Salsa Night in Glendora – Open Arts Kinetics (531 E. Arrow Hwy., #111, Glendora CA 91740) is hosting a Salsa night at 8 p.m. It’s only $10 per person, which is really inexpensive for a Valentine’s celebration, and you get to twirl around the room (or at least try) to fun and infectious music in the company of your favorite person. RSVP by calling or texting (626) 385-6009.
Sloan Dalley at Mt. Lowe Brewing Company in Arcadia – If prancing around the dance floor is a bit much for your taste, maybe you’ll enjoy a nice cold beer while listening to the music of guitarist Sloan Dalley at the Mt. Lowe Brewing Company (150 E. Saint Joseph St., Arcadia CA 91006). Her set will start at 7 pm. Beers are for purchase; the music is free.
Valentine’s party at Dandana Café in Glendora – If you rather sit down and have a magnificent dinner, consider Dandana Café (765 W. Route 66, Glendora CA 91740), which on Valentine’s Day, starting at 8 pm, will hold a special event with live music and an all out middle eastern feast. The cost is $75 per person. You can make reservations and ask additional questions by calling (626) 335-8100.
Valentine’s Day Afterglow at Avila Gardens in Duarte – If you rather wait until the weekend, the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles invite you to a free concert of romantic songs at Avila Gardens, which is a Senior Living complex, on Saturday, Feb. 16, from 1 pm to 3 pm. The location is 1171 Encanto Pkwy, in Duarte, CA 91010. You can RSVP by calling (626) 599-2214.
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
